Artist statement - Living Impressions (2020) is a series of mixed media installations representing people of different generations living in unique circumstances in Nagaland. This project aims to capture and preserve a moment in their lives through a combination of sound, video and sculpture in a form of narrative storytelling. Issues of cultural traditions being eroded and notions of how to preserve them in the face of constant technological and societal change is a prevalent question to communities in countries across the world and is a wider theme that I am pursuing to explore in my future works. The second part of Living Impressions will take me to Central Asia and Europe.
