DR. MINAL M. RAJURKAR Born :1982 (Maharashtra)
I see an artwork as the concentration of an idea or concept into a physical entity. And as an artist I have focused on creating paintings that combine the physical world that people see every day with imagery from mythology and dreams. My artwork takes a critical view of social, political and cultural issues.
As a human being I observe different people around me and their behavior with others in different situations. Some of my subject matter is about people's daily routines and a comment on human nature. As we are social animal and our society is a power oriented society. Few people are dominating millions. They decorate their selves with beautiful mask and covers to hide their own personality. They imitate somebody else and use mask for adjusting their selves with others.
My work is not intended to be viewed as fantasy or as a blend of every –day experiences and the subconscious. My paintings are enigmatic, and they create dream-like worlds that invite viewers to form their own interpretations of imagery presented.I paint in highly detailed manner. My work is often humorous; it straddles the divide between the serious and the bizarre. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each series my methodology is consistent. My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience. During research and production new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work.
